The Gospel According to Gaga
You know what I felt? I felt that you and I were just getting to know each other, but I felt a sense of sisterhood and mothering toward you. I felt that I’ve tried to use my platform all these years for something that was greater than myself as a force for good. Not only did I watch you, I really saw you. I saw you on that stage, I saw who you were, who you are, and who you are becoming in the world. It felt like everything I’ve ever done has now been elevated and passed on to you, to be used in your own way. That’s what it felt like. I tear up thinking about it, because I thought, ‘Wow, here’s somebody,’ and over the years, as you know, I’ve interviewed thousands of people. I know a countless number of celebrities, but to be in the presence of someone who is as young as you are, and who absolutely gets it, was a real honor for me.

When I was in middle school, that’s really when it started. I got thrown in a trash can by some boys who went to a school near by and who were hanging out with the popular girls and as I was walking down the street to the bus they picked me up and just threw me in the trash. They all laughed and pointed, I just remember running away and crying.
